Who We Are
We are residents of Windermere committed to preserving and protecting the environment that makes our community a very special place to live. Some of us have lived here since the beginning. Some of us moved here only recently. We invite you to explore this site and encourage you to join us. The Windermere Coalition neighborhood consists of homes in the Heritage Walk subdivision and certain homes on streets immediately adjacent to the subdivision.
Homeowners in Heritage Walk must belong to the Homeowners Association and must pay dues -- which can run in excess of $1,000 annually -- for expenses related to maintaining common property (such as the pool and tennis courts). In contrast, membership in the Luxmanor Citizens Association (LCA) is available to, but not required of, homeowners in Luxmanor, The Oaks, and other areas referred to as “Windermere.” (In fact, only about 50% of the homeowners on Windermere Circle, Windermere's longest street, are LCA members.) Annual LCA dues are minimal ($40 or so), because the LCA owns no property and so there's no common property to maintain.
This site is not affiliated with the Homeowner’s Association in any way. It is run and funded privately.
This site is by Windermere residents and for Windermere residents. We may verify that you live here before posting your comments.
We will not post personal attacks or unverified rumors.
We will assume that those who disagree with us are people of good will who only want the best for our community. We hope that they will assume the same about us. We do well when we question each other’s ideas. We do less well when we question each other’s motives.
You do not have to belong to our coalition or agree with everything we say in order to post your comments in the Blog, Our Voices. You don’t have to agree with the opinions and positions expressed here. But you do have to be a resident of Windermere to post.
